About this deal

I was listening to the audiobook on the couch (that happens more than you would think), and my family member started listening too. The class gathered on the front steps of the museum, where we could watch the foot traffic along Fifth Avenue. The book was named School Library Journal’s Best Book of 2005, an American Library Association Notable Book (2006), and a New York Times Notable Book (2005).

There are three young heroes: a brainy girl (An Anyway, Nancy Bobofit was throwing wads of sandwich that stuck in his curly brown hair, and she knew I couldn’t do anything back to her because I was already on probation. Given how well received this book is (and the entire series), I was looking forward to continue my fantasy to-read list with Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a while now.Obviously, none of these would matter to kids at all, who will find the entire thing to be quite entertaining. Content and Trigger Warnings: bullying, loss of a parent, minor blood depiction, talk of abuse, and arachnophobia. Percy is very frightened by this and assumes that the string of yarn that had just been cut off was his.

Brunner had this look that wouldn't let you go— intense brown eyes that could've been a thousand years old and had seen everything. raises hand* I loved when they saved the animals in the old truck they were riding in, Grover is awesome! He rode up front in his wheelchair, guiding us through the big echoey galleries, past marble statues and glass cases full of really old black-and-orange pottery. Honestly, I didn't have too much expectations from the book or the series as it came out 15 years ago.He must've been held back several grades, because he was the only sixth grader with acne and the start of a wispy beard on his chin. The headmaster had threatened me with death by in-school suspension if anything bad, embarrassing, or even mildly entertaining happened on this trip. She had come to Yancy halfway through the year, when our last maths teacher had a nervous breakdown. Enraged, and fearing his mother’s death, Percy defeats the monster and obtains one of its horns as a souvenir. His latest novel is Daughter of the Deep, a modern take on Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Now that I was declared a son of one of the Big Three gods who weren’t supposed to have kids, I figured it was a crime for me just to be alive. Thankfully, as an adult who likes reviewing books for fun in my spare time, I have absolutely no shame about reading the series now, even if it was originally intended for a younger audience. The titan lord Kronos has devised his most treacherous plot yet, and the young heroes have just fallen prey. Kronos’s army is stronger than ever, and with every god and half-blood he recruits, the evil Titan’s power only grows. Percy is outraged, and suddenly, water from a nearby fountain drenches Nancy in a very unnatural way but the Mist makes it look like Percy pushed her.But if you recognize yourself in these pages—if you feel something stirring inside—stop reading immediately.
