About this deal

Handcrafted, all botanicals are hand-selected, labels hand-written and each batch named after a special African elephant. Although produced in Germany, the gins are an extraordinary tribute to the continent of Africa: in addition to more classic herbs, roots and fruits, African botanicals such as cassis and lion's tail are used. The mouthful is smooth, full and dry, with a freshness of pine, apple and subtle florals, together with orange peel and earthy spice. The gin's distinct nose first yields a subtle juniper aroma, with an undertone of mountain pine and other herbaceous notes.

Its innovative blend of 14 botanicals combines rare African ingredients with fresh apples that make Elephant Gin distinct from any other. Botanicals: 14 including juniper, devil's claw, buchu, baobab, lion's tail, wormwood, apple, pine needles, lavender, sweet orange peel, ginger, pimento berries, elderflower.

Compared to other sloe gins, Elephant Sloe Gin has a lower sugar content paired with higher alcohol volume of 35%. The taste is complex but strikingly smooth encompassing floral, fruity and spicy flavours which can be enjoyed both straight and in a cocktail. Unsure what the future held, we decided to take action and make an impact to help protect the African elephant - even from afar. Each batch is named after past great tuskers and elephants that Elephant Gin’s partner elephant conservation foundations currently help to protect. If you like classic gin like Bombay, Tanquery - you won't be disappointed but probably not amazed either.

The Gin Guide Review: Alongside the honourable donations to wildlife conservation in Africa, Elephant Gin is a deeply characterful, well-constructed and complex gin, with prominent classic gin characteristics accented gently, but noticeably, with African botanicals. Adding tonic elevates the pine and floral notes on the nose as well as the deep earthy and woody characters on the palate. To create a lightly sweet, delicate and floral gin and tonic, why not use a slice of apple as a garnish? An intense initial blast of fresh aroma and a natural sweetness, complimented with a full bodied botanical backbone and perfectly balanced juniper finish. The taste is complex but strikingly smooth, encompassing floral, fruity and spicy flavours, which can be enjoyed both straight or in a cocktail.

If the gin had at least 57% ABV, then it surely survived the test and was proclaimed of navy strength. The term 'schnapps' comes from the Low German language and is a nod to the fact the drink should be consumed quickly. Whilst the Elephant London Dry Gin and Elephant Strength Gin share the same fourteen botanicals, including rare African ingredients, to create their distinctive flavour profiles, the latter uses twice the quantity of botanicals and has an ABV of 57%. Macerated in the gin for several months, these wild berries add a richly rounded, lightly sweet and exquisitely fruity bouquet as well as a typical warm red colour to the spirit. The label has a resemblance to a stamped postage stamp, from the double-sided printed label on the back shines through a map to the front.

Rich aroma of squeezed lime and grapefruit, with stewed fruits, cooked biscuits and roasted hazelnuts. Elephant Strength Gin is a multi-award winning gin that took home the title of World's Best Gin at the Gin Masters in 2021. They're joined by mountain pine, apple, orange peel, ginger, and a few more hushed-up botanicals that make Elephant Gin such a treat. As such we have invested in global protection and take action against every infringement of our rights. With the hand-crafted bottle, complete with cork stopper and an old fashioned map on the label, Elephant Dry Gin certainly captures the spirit of exploration. All of this combines to give Elephant Gin the romantic impression that it wouldn't look out of place on board the HMS Beagle. The Strength encompasses twice the quantity of botanicals and a focus on the extraordinary African buchu, sweet orange peel and herbaceous mountain pine. The Elephant Gin botanicals are selected carefully, and sourced from all over the globe, including, of course, from Africa. The result is a more powerful nose and taste - without losing the silky-smooth character that the Elephant London Dry Gin has become celebrated for.
